Greystone GT will expand to a three-car line-up in the British GT Championship for the first time at the Silverstone 500 in May.
The team will contest their local event with an additional McLaren 720S GT3 Evo in the Pro-Am category for International GT Open competitors Andrew Gilbert and Fran Rueda.
The race, which will be the British GT debut for both drivers, will come a week after they begin their GT Open season – also with Greystone GT – at Portimao.
Nottingham-born Andrew, who is based in Dubai, began his racing career in the 2021 Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific; finishing on the podium three times in six races in the Coppa Shell Am division including two runner-up spots at Dubai Autodrome.
He delivered three top-five finishes in six Ferrari Challenge Europe rounds and ran strongly in the GT Open – which represented his first two weekends racing a GT3 car.
Fran, from Malaga, finished as the overall series runner-up in 2017 and 2018. He has also been a race winner in the Renault Sport Trophy and the SEAT Eurocup.
He and Andrew combined to twice score a best result of sixth in Pro-Am last year; the duo finishing all four of the races they contested.
Andrew and Fran’s Node4-supported McLaren will share the Greystone GT garage with British GT full-season entries Andrey Borodin and Oli Webb (McLaren 720S GT3 Evo) and Mike Price and Callum Macleod (Mercedes-AMG GT3).
The Silverstone 500 takes place over the weekend of May 6-7 with the race broadcast live on British GT’s website and the GT World YouTube channel plus UK coverage on Sky Sports F1.
Mark McLoughlin, Team Principal, said: “We now have one more reason to look forward to the Silverstone 500 – our home race – with Andrew and Fran adding this event to their GT Open schedule. It’s exciting to bring our GT Open team to British GT for the weekend to add to our regular line-up. We tested here in April with the car on the Pirelli tyres – which neither driver is particularly used to – so the experience we’ve gained should be a help.”
