Greystone GT name new line-ups for McLaren Trophy Europe

Greystone GT are excited to announce three debutants and three returning drivers for the opening events of the McLaren Trophy Europe.

Phillip Carter will make his series debut in the McLaren Artura Trophy Evo on home soil at the season-opening round at Brands Hatch on May 4-5 and will be partnered by Michael Broadhurst, with whom he has spent his entire racing career.

Phillip and Michael scored two GTH class wins and 13 podiums in the GT Cup from 2022-23 in a Greystone GT-run McLaren 570S GT4; the pair securing third in the points table in the latter season.

For Michael it marks a first start in the McLaren Trophy Europe since the Barcelona season finale in 2023, at which he partnered Shaun Pendrigh and claimed a double-podium.

It is Shaun – and fellow South African Stuart White – who will take over the car for Round Two at Monza, Italy, on May 30-June 1.

He was a Pro-Am race winner in the 570S Trophy category in 2023 at Spa and took seven podium finishes (five with Stuart). Stuart is an Italian GT race winner and has class victories to his name in the GT World Challenge Europe.

US-based duo Bill Fenech and Chris Hall will race the Artura at Round Three at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, in support of the 24 Hours of Spa, on June 25-28, for what will be the series debut for both drivers.

American Bill scored a triple-podium result on his debut race weekend in HSR competition in 2023 and is currently second in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America Masters points table after a strong start to the season that has included a race win – with Chris – in the series’ endurance category.

London-born Chris, meanwhile, began racing in the UK in 1979, also winning on his debut in Formula Ford 1600 and taking three championship titles in his homeland before moving stateside in 1993.

An SCCA National champion and a regular race winner and podium-finisher over the past three decades, Chris has competed in a wide range of disciplines from NASCAR, short oval ‘sprint car’ events, single-seaters and GT and sports car racing and been a podium finisher at the Daytona 24 Hours.

Mark McLoughlin, Team Principal, said: We’re delighted to announce this new addition to our McLaren Trophy Europe lineup alongside our full-season entries. It’s great to have Shaun back after he scaled back his racing efforts last year while Phillip is a great example of a someone who came to one of our Supercar Track Days, had an opportunity to try out a racing car and then stepped into a full programme with us and has now worked his way up to an international series. Bill is new to the team but will be the third American driver in our line-up at Monza; a pleasing indication of how our achievements are being noticed in the US.”
