Greystone GT are very pleased to announce an expanded two-car line-up for the International GT Open season in 2023 with a second McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.
Lewis and Stewart Proctor will contest the European-based series alongside fellow McLaren pairing Andrew Gilbert and Fran Rueda; the Aberdeen-based duo moving up from the British GT Championship.
The announcement marks a decisive step by Silverstone-based Greystone GT, who will tackle a full international GT3 programme for the first time, having contested two late-season rounds in 2022 that included a class pole position in Barcelona.
Lewis burst onto the GT racing scene in British GT in 2018 as one of the first intake of young drivers on the McLaren Driver Development Programme.
Two podiums and a maiden GT4 victory at Snetterton was followed by a step up to the GT3 class in 2020, which resulted in two podium finishes, and then Silver-Am title success with his father Stewart in 2021 as well as a GT Cup win at Brands Hatch.
In addition to his British GT programme, which finished with a class win at the Donington Park finale, he contested the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with a maiden podium finish at Paul Ricard.
Both drivers joined Greystone GT last year, scoring a Silver-Am podium on their team debuts at Oulton Park in British GT and four more across the season; Lewis winning the final race of 2022.
Lewis Proctor said: “Moving up to the International GT Open is extremely exciting, especially as it will be the first international series I’ve raced in with my Dad. The level of competition is high, so we all know we’ll have to raise our game to be competitive, but we both know the McLaren extremely well and we’ve already seen from the results that Greystone GT scored in the couple of rounds they did in 2022 that we have everything we need around us to score some good results.”
Mark McLoughlin, Team Principal, said: “I’m thrilled to be doubling our line-up in the International GT Open to two cars and to give Lewis and Stewart the opportunity to compete together internationally for the first time. Lewis is certainly a driver with a bright future and he was often one of the very fastest silver drivers in British GT last year; someone whose laptimes usually compared extremely well with the pro drivers in the field. We proved last year that the McLaren has the potential to compete at the front as well so I’m confident we can perform strongly with Lewis and Stewart.”
