Greystone GT will return for a third full season of British GT Championship action in 2024 with Mike Price and Callum Macleod back aboard the #3 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
The duo contested the GT3 Pro-Am category in 2023 with the Forelle Estates-backed Mercedes-AMG and recorded a best finish of sixth overall at Snetterton in June. They are now seeking to improve on their rookie campaign together with the Silverstone-based team.
Mike, who lives in the New Forest, Hampshire, began racing in 2017 in the Porsche Club Championship, collecting numerous podium finishes across a number of full and part-time campaigns including Britcar Endurance and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain.
He stepped up to the GT Cup in 2021, finishing third with Callum in the GTH standings with a win at Oulton Park in a GT4 McLaren. The pair then took two victories in the top GT3 class in 2022 aboard the Mercedes-AMG and graduated to British GT last year with the same car.
Prior to these achievements, Callum was the 2007 Formula Ford UK Champion and the 2010 European F3 Open series runner-up before switching to GT racing.
A class winner on his debut at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2015 and a podium finish at the 2021 Gulf 12 Hours as well as multiple wins in British GT and the GT Cup make him one of the most highly-regarded professional sportscar racers in the UK.
Greystone GT, meanwhile, debuted in British GT in 2022 and scored five podium finishes in the Silver-Am class in their rookie season. Last year was their first season contesting the Pro-Am division.
The British GT Championship gets underway at Oulton Park, Cheshire, on Easter Monday, April 1.
Mike Price said: “I’m really looking forward to being back in British GT and I think we have a lot to look forward to. Last year was very much a learning season for me as a driver, at the most intense level of competition I’d ever experienced, and for the team, who hadn’t run the Mercedes-AMG before. I think we’re looking far stronger now with some of the work that’s gone on with the car giving both Callum and I a really good feeling when we drove at Oulton Park and Silverstone this past week or two. We’ll be faster and more consistent than in 2023 but so will everybody else so it’s hard to know where we’ll be in the pecking order. I’m confident that we’ll leave no stone unturned as we aim to challenge for strong results across the year.”
Callum Macleod said: “I’m really looking forward to 2024 with both Mike and Greystone GT, and I feel a lot of things have fallen into place over the last few months that will give us a real chance of success this season. Last year was a transitional one with us moving teams and not having an ideal pre-season, so we were playing catch-up and improving the car bit-by-bit as the season went on. This time we know the car is exactly as it should be, with the engine rebuilt a few months ago and the chassis free of any little defects that can massively affect the performance. We’ve got the gremlins out, and we have a really great team of people behind us at Greystone GT to help us really push on.”
Mark McLoughlin, Team Principal, said: “I’m very pleased to have Mike and Callum back on board for a second season in the British GT Championship. I think 2023 was probably the strongest-ever season of British GT in terms of teams and drivers, so it was great to see Mike improve his speed and consistency as the season wore on and with Callum alongside him he has a proven multiple Brtish GT race winner to help him continue that progress. Winter testing has been going very well and we’re in the best shape we’ve ever been for the start of a British GT season.”
